The two closest stations are London Bridge (mainline and underground) and Borough (underground). Both are 10 minutes walk or less from the apartment; which is more convenient depends on how you arrive in London. London Bridge is slightly more complicated, but a couple of minutes closer.
Which station you choose will depend in part on how you arrive in London. London Bridge is connected to the Jubilee Line and Northern Line, as well as the mainline train station. Borough station is connected just to the Northern Line. The Jubilee Line has better connections to the rest of London. The Northern Line has two branches, and you need to ensure that you take the correct branch.
The alternative is to go to Borough station, which is a few minutes longer to walk, but less complicated.
See the stations page for more details.
You will probably arrive by underground (tube/subway/metro — names for the underground in different countries). There are many ways out of the station, so please read these directions carefully. You must realise that there are TWO stations at London Bridge — the London Underground station, and the main-line station for surface trains travelling out of London.
When you leave the underground train, you will need go up two escalators (moving stairways),
and then leave the Underground.
At various points you will see overhead direction signs.
Be sure at all stages to follow the signs to
London Bridge
, starting with the escalator up from the underground.
(
is the logo for National Rail, which operates the mainline station).
The signs appear in one of these two variants.
they are displayed overhead at various points.
When you come to the ticket barrier, you will again see the sign. You should turn right, and straight down the passageway, which leads to Guys Hospital. There are also signs on the floor pointing to the hospital.
Go straight ahead, and down the street shown in the the above picture. When you get to the end of this street, turn left, and you should see an express bar and some shops, as shown in the next picture.
Pass the shops and The Miller pub on the corner, then turn right into Kipling Street. Walk past the car park, recreation ground and the Britannia pub. 50 yards on, you will see the entrance to the Kipling estate. The video will guide you the rest of the way.

There is only one exit from Borough station, onto Borough High Street. Cross this road from the station, and walk about 55m along Great Dover Street, towards the traffic lights. Cross again towards the church, into Long Lane. Walk along Long Lane for about 400m until you get to Kipling Street. It is about 80m to the entrance to Kipling Estate on the right. The video will guide you the rest of the way.
